wtf does “deprecated” mean?

in the context of this blog, I used “deprecated” to indicate posts that are no longer valid, or have been combined into another post (usually because I occasionally make multiple posts on the same subject. Ideally, the deprecated post will have a link to where it went, or why it’s no longer valid.

I do this instead of simply deleting that no longer valid posts, since there might be other links to the now-deprecated post, and finding all the incoming links and fixing them is too much work. This preserves the linking of posts, which I find to be so important.
