write about how the lack of mosquitos in Yellowjackets really takes me out of the story. they’re in the NWT or northern BC and i haven’t seen a single reference to (like jeese,m these mosquitos are really bad in nrther canada inthe summer) or a single swap of a mosquito biting, etc. it’s likle that one time we were at a play (dad’s linda’s daugeter or something was in it) and the actor did something that broe the 4th wall like leaning against the pillart that framded the stage or tapped his pipe on a similar 4th weall item. it strucdk em at the time as discomforthing, but I didn’t really know why. dude at the end of the plays did an explanatiob or critique, explained how this breraking of the 4th wall is jarring to the audience, and should only be used sparingly or it doesn’t work; not sure if he was thinking the plays use of it was good or bad. seemed kinda pompus to me, but he was the guest critic or somthine that night. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
