The snip below says it all. This example is from Thunderbird plugin called Lightning (might be a standard part of Thunderbird?); this applies to all calendars and other apps that need this. Wjhen the info is too dense, a method of rasiing the desiired info seems required. asi move the mouse over the list of calendars, events should highlight, without chaninging the Z-order or hiding other things.
