Recycling CD, DVDs

in reverse cron order.

2024-04-12 – asked Paul for mobile shredding service; I’d like to persuade them to allow individuals to drop stuff off

Google search turns up a few in Peterborough:

UPS Store – cost?? doesn’t do CDs; emailed for costs

Office Connect – $2/lb, doesn’t mention CDs, olny mentions paper

Staples – $1/lb, will pickup for “as low as $5/lb bases on 200 boxes); no mention of CDs

I have many CDs to destroy. Would like to take them somewhere to have them destroyed. My shredder can’t power through one. Motor gets way too hot. Smelly hot. That bad electrical small.

Maybe Paul? Maybe has shredder or has a service into which I could drop these ~few hundred disks.

Nothing bad one them. Backups, mostly password protected .zip files. 30+ CDs of MP3 files. Nowadays a 1TB is less costly that the 30+ CDs.

  1. Yah, I thought I might have. But I came across a bag of CDs that need disposing of, which brought back the idea you might have a means. Now I have it on record.
