From nobody to somebody: China’s high-speed rail in numbers

Over the past decade, the country has opened over 35,000 kilometers (km) HSR lines, with the total length far more than the rest of the world combined. The train speed has improved from a maximum of 200 km per hour to 350 km per hour, the fastest in the world.
