I would like to learn more about how motors, gearing, pump sizing, is done. For instance, how does the elevator designer decide what size motor, the gearing in the drivetrain, etc. I’m pretty sure they start with some basic parameters (max mass, max speed, etc.).
Pointers to online learning sites most welcome.
I doubt it’s my method: start big, reduce until failure, go back to last one that worked.
