On the afternoon of July 25, the Greek-owned supertanker Kiku docked at Qatar’s Mesaieed oil export terminal, a massive, 30-berth port on the country’s west coast, 25 miles south of Doha.
tl;dr: tankers transit oil out of gulf with us protection, then transfer to other ships to get the oil out to final destinations. as mentioned other places, greek shipping companies are willing to take the risk. also, china & usa have almost depleted reserves.
