Great reporting, Charlie! On the Gordie Howe bridge… I for one am really disappointed in the alleged “deal” Trump claims has been fully explained. Reserving marching-in-street rage for when details emerge.
As a ressponse, once the bridge is up and running and folks see the benefits of adding a bridge, add a “Trucks Only” toll at the foot of the Ambassador Bridge, doubling what the toll is now. Trucks only so that cars & people aren’t too inconveinieced. And maybe make it free for cars in either direction? This should push truckers to use the Gordie Howe, alleving the pain for cars. Free travel to our souther neighbours can be presented as a gift to our US friends (they’re not ALL bad!).
If this seems too provacative to the Orange Idiot, start constructiono n the last km of the approach. Never-ending construction. If not resurfacing, then it’s sewer replacement or electrical work. Again, push the trucks to use the new bridge.
Both of these actions are 100% in our control. Ontario can toll any road. Windsor can do the construction work

Time to drop the gloves. Place a toll booth at the foot of the Ambassador Bridge. Both directions, trucks only, $20/axle, doubling the cost to truckers. Let cars go free both ways. This will drive truck traffic to the Gordie Howe Bridge AND strangle revenue to the Maroun family.
Yes, this will cause chaos. It’s gonna hurt for a bit. But we’re in the fight now. Our opponent has shown no restraint, time for us to do the same.
It won’t take long for business interests (auto industry, Maroun family, etc.) to beat some sense into the US administration. Might even earn us some respect
