here are things I have seen on auction sites. keep in mind:
- these are the closing prices before fees (13% to 16% depending on auction site, and sometimes a $1/item fee) & taxes (13%); i tend to view final price as 1.3x what it closes for
- these might be low due to lack of interest. where possible i capture multipls similar items to get a better sense of costs.
- most things can be had for 1/3rd to 1/2 of retail. i try to do way better. i generally won’t bid more than 1/3rd of
