so i replaced, with great difficulty and considerable anguish to replace the very noise power supply in balrog; bequiet 750w will do nicely if I ever swap my gpu (rtx-2060 > rtx4060~) it they ever get cheap (c’mon ai bubble burst!),
these new power supplies come with modular cables. neat sez i. but they’re so thick and not very bendy. so here’s the best I can do without spending significant time routing things, stipping some wires out, etc. or buy custom length cables, but ~300$ for a complete sets of slippery silicon cables. not happening on a ~5yo computer.
end result… can’t get the side panel on. 😠 So the power supply is indeed quieter… but the machine is overall louder since no side panel. 🤪🫤
gemini- started speaking japanese when I mentioned my reluctance to spend more money, esp on fucking cables. and $300 is the min, you could probs spend 1k$ on the lighted ones.
