Nanotechnology transforming potato farming: Small particles, big impact

Nanotechnology is transforming potato farming by enhancing nutrient absorption and reducing environmental impact, writes Clark Bell, CEO of Nano-Yield in this article. Microscopic particles improve…

“One of the most appealing aspects of nanotechnology in agriculture is its ability to do more with less. Nanoparticles require only a fraction of the volume of traditional inputs to achieve the same—or even better—results. For instance, some nanoliquid products only require application rates as low as four ounces per acre, compared to the gallons of traditional fertilizers typically needed.”

4 oz /acre is 118ml / 4047sqm = 0.1 ml / sq m, so abut 1/5th of a drop per sq m. how the hell do you get even dispersion like this?

also, this is nanotech in the “very small particles” sense, not the “ultra tiny machines running thru our bloodstreams” type.

also, once again I am amazed there is a Potato New digest.
