The measures under consideration include a special measure to slap a surtax on Chinese-made EVs, changes to which cars are eligible for the $5,000 federal EV purchase rebates, and “broader” restrictions on investment in Canada, Freeland said.

Last week, the federal Parliamentary Budget Officer calculated the EV sector is slated to receive $52.5 billion in federal and provincial support.

I wonder how much the chinese govt has subsidized their ev industry, if such a thing can be determined.
