tl;dr: avian-flu took out many egg layers, so survivors are now being used into 3rd year, and old chickens lay more fragile eggs due to calcuium loss (same as humans with bone weakening?); even adding calcium to the diet doesn’t completley fix this. i have to admist I thought the last few batches of eggs have bee a little weak, but not more than usual variation
