My original thinking was hackers would find a bypass to this software range lock. But Tesla already has software range locking on all Model S (or perhaps on every Tesla?), since it offers “standard” range and optional (read: $$$) upgrades. So if such hacking was possible, it’s probably already done. If not, then it might be unhackable.
