why do we need all these different links, which all could use the URL instead. each of these icons is a link to a different website, or an installed app, or a mailto system call. so the YouTube devs (and every other website devs) must include these, usually a subset of the most popular 3 or 4 destinations for the share. And they must keep on top of the new (for instance where is TikTok? Instagram?) and remove dead ones (Tumblr?) or accurately keep up with name or icon changes (Twitter/X); this isn’t even a rant about apps, although sorta is, since the app could just use the URL, doing whatever transalation it might need to use it’s own protocols. JUST USE THE F*&%ING URL!!!
