India – wish I could have hacked that sign in Durgapur…

wxboy: These types of signs are well-known for being trivial to “hack”.

Truth.  On a business trip to India, the security gate as this MegaCorp factory I was working at had an LED sign, scrolling various info for the workers.  I noted it had an old PC-XT 5-pin DIN connector to plug in a keyboard.  I watched a guy plug one in and, with one keystroke the display blanked; I took this to mean no username/password required.  Just a PC-XT keyboard or a converter for the smaller AT keyboard plug.
All I had with me was USB keyboard and no convertor.  So no hijinks on my part.  It would have been respectful.
Also, the gate guards had pistols, never would have happened.
