To reduce heating of the outside unit for the 1st half of the day, a short wall in front of the unit would help. if built solid or with sound absorbing material, will make for less noise to the neighbours and to the deck.
maybe use these as base? they seem to be for concrete, but what if drill hole in driveay, fill with mortar/industrial glue/spray foam solit stuff like we used for closthsline post
