Source: Will garbage dumps fuel a hydrogen revolution? | GlobalSpec
Sadly, the website for Ways2H is dead, all “coming soon”, not sure if alive.
also, is it particularly difficult to go from methane to hydrogen? fta:
” Additionally, landfill gas produced at Puente Hills already contains up to 50% methane — a hydrocarbon composed of one carbon atom and four hydrogen atoms — which has the potential to be further processed into purer forms of molecular hydrogen with advanced technology.”
if this process can help with creating hydrogen from methane, could dumpsbecome future fillup sites? since transporting hydrogen is difficult (7000bar/10kpsi!), make it and sell it on site of old garbage dumps?
