I do the following steps dozens, perhaps mre than 100 a day:
- browsing an article
- need to open a new tab (from link, from slected text, just a new blank browser tabh, whevs)
- CTRL-N opens a new tab in a new window. Always right over the tab I was on, completely obscuring when I was reading.
- move new wndow to the right, usually so the new window’s upper-left corner is on the old window’s upper-right corner; new window is same height as old window
- int tjhe new winodw I might:
- do a search for something,
- go to amazon.ca for tinhgs i need to buy (evben if i will buy it locally)
- read the linked or highlighted text search
- if the new window generates ineough interst so that i want to save it for later
- name the new window properly in Tabs Outliner
- sometime close this window if the interest is not immediate
- return to reading in old window
Examples from today…
Perhaps in Chrome, an “extension” could be used; ideally replace Chrome’s default “Open in New Window” trigger;
press the trigger keystroke
move window to specift XY
size window properly
open new window, same size as parent, XY to put new window stuck to the right side ofparent windo.
