wat if they waited until omicron and less deadly variatns were dominant, then let er rip. indeed huge cases, and there will be overloaded hospitals and funeralss and crematoriums. the numbers are just too large in china. with 1.4B it might not be out of normal for omicron case fatality to take out a 1M or evn 2M (90% of 1.4B = 1.26B cases / 2M deaths = 0.16% case fatality rate., or 1.4B / 2M = 0.14 deaths per milion? these numbers sound high?? for reference, if usa has 1.2M deaths / 340M populatiopn, that’s a 0.35 / million. , so usa 2.5x worse? what about canada?
but without being able to trust their numbers, who really knows.
