The ban on making or importing items like grocery bags, straws and takeout containers took effect Tuesday, but it won’t be illegal to sell them in Canada for another year.
Source: The first stage of Canada’s plastics ban is now in place. Here’s how it affects you
so buiz cant import, but have 1 year to depelet stock, then biz can’t sell, so users can’t get
tim horton with fibre lid. is as good? cost compare? is recycle or bio degradeable or trash or compost? where do i put it?
dolphin killers are juune24 before no longer saleable in canada
do the politicians have power to force the cost of recycling and the peneatlies for cleanup etc onto the highest level possible (like with plastic soda water bottles. make the plastic bottle maker or the plastic bottle user (coke, pespi, etc)
ultimately trhe cuonsukmer will pay in the form of higher prices. so it’s really about will the public put up with tht costs. if the payer of this fee is not able to sell product in plastic bottle, then needs to switch to something else. also, that fee is to develope full circle responsible recyvcling of what is used. of course no one will want to go basck to deposit return. consumers hate it. retailser hate it; so make the payer/producer fund home pickup of the bottle, and complete plant to reuse or recycle or worse safely discard. we know dep/ret works, the beer store is wickedly good. but now that soda is ~30 years from getting rid of dep/ret, aind’t no one got time for that. exeptyh
we are paying for it anyway, just in problerms due to use of, or cost to bury it, esp when it gets picked up, haqnd sorted, baled, then buried or etc?
