Why I dislike spaces and other difficult characters in filenames

when I c/p a long pathname by triple-clickt-rclick-copy select where i want it, paste; tripple click stops on whitespace, which a space is

when iona command line, tab completion stops on a whatedpasce. whitespace

thuinderbiord, a long time ago, had a bug where a filename attached that had a space (and others)? would not actually be attached on sending.

bacth file and command line: have to use ” or ‘ to enclose odd chars.

odd chars can be like & and + and the various slashes , but that’s another fucking thing to deal with

n example of the apostrophe in a filename: the original file would have a ‘ in the contraction “youre”, but likely was excluded due to being a special character in many filesystems (for quoting to command line stuff (like a filespec with spaces in it). And is also easily confused with the backquote, another problematic beast seen in the *nix-like world.
