you should be able to setup a custom sms/messenger/WhatsApp alert that only others care approved to send. like the VIP flag in apple contacts (you could have phone on dnd, but if a text/whatev comes in from a person marked as “vip” would be able to get through; i think applied to all forms comms from a vip. might have been flexible eg just allow texts through, or all comms. likely only work with os-specific app, since there is likely no unified well established way to do this.
like if i send 3 chicken heads in a row in 10 seconds, i can break thru all the dnd settings. which seems t be possible sice “find my phone” via google can make a phone that’s set to silent ring so you can find it (source: just used google to find joan’s phone (which was right next to me in the rolling tray thingy i use for things I need at hand.

i’m reminded of the “port knocking” security idea (was about to write a bunch on port knocking, but decided a link to the Wikipedia on this is way better than i can ever do.
i never did implement port knocking at qm; i didn’t think there was much threat, but i was probably wrong and should have.
