list of auction hibid software fixes improvements coimplaints

list of all mention from the steam-o-conciousness file…

the feedback/questions form when press the “Contact Auctioneer” button should be movable. id’ like to see the thing i’m writing about, but the form covers most of the lot:

another prob with feedback/question form:

hibid: would be nice to see notes on the “fast” biuddoing live page.

hiobid: force use of yyyy-mm-dd in ALL DATES EVER mentiopn. iso-8601 forever!

when entering a note in hibid lot, pressing enter should close the dialoog; currently add line. right now click once on close b to set note text, then another close b to close dialog. i want thi smuch quicker. oddly, click on the background pahe (off the notes dialog) will do what i want, gbut is too far, and my hands on tyoping, not scrolling. easier = faster
allow me tyo set when ther timer/+ button start to bli8ck.

hibid: some auctioneers don’t use the categories (Encore, perhaps others).
but this would be better as an “exclude” list, nbot a “how me the specific categorry only list. for instnce, i never want to see “Clothing” of any type, nor do aI want to see “baby” stuff. but i want to see everything else. so have this list drop down with everything selected, but allow me to unselect the few categoeiss i don’t want to see.

would be really h andy to have auctioneers tag their titles with more uniformity::

if they used a consistenct format like:

colsing_yyyy-mm-dd@hha/p name-of auctioneer pickup city short description

eg: 2021-12-08@07:00pm – Hibid – Richmond Hill – 9th Anniversary Auction
2021-12-09@06:30pm – Sotrey’s, London, Fitness Studio, Office Furnature, Tool
2021-12-13@05:00pm – Storey’s, Barrie, Moose Wisnooskies restaurant closing

instead of this mess:

hibid – make the notes box that appears when I “watch” a lot;

in the examples above, the placement of the notes popup is frsrtating espe when marking lots of items on a line. requires too many off item clicks to close a popup that’s sitting over a nother watch star. also behaves differently on right-most lot. by making the notes popup over the lot its for, all confusion elimintated.
also, allow to NOT have the notes popup automagically, since this slows down first browe of the catlaog.

make the notes popup box narrowoer, so it doesn’t cover the favorite star of the item to the right. better yet, make the notes box appear over the current item to which the bote is being applied.
2nd eaxample in this next graphic would allow my tofwatch the bike then quickly watch the figurine by pressingon the star under her; wich auto-closes the notes box. reduces a click or two, but this hapens a lot.

hibid auctions – when I am entering a note, don’t clear the& close the note field when the underlying page refreshes.

after entering a note, allow CTRL-enter to close. also, only one press of Close button wopuldf be nice

auctionnetwork.ca or Ontario Hibid – if I unselect “Refresh every 60 seconds”, on pressing F5 to refresh manually, “Refresh…” is turned back on.

in my estimate, auctionnetwork.ca is cheating on the “no reserve” tingy. too many odd loots are coming up week after week. they get bid up, “sell”, but I suspect they’re self-bidding to ensure they get what they want.
2021-05-10 – same behaviour; last night’s auction (ssunday) had stuff “closing” that showed up again today. Really weird unique things,. Probably bought a vase of things and has set a self-bid target to ensure XX% profit (25%? 50%? ???)

Ontario Hibid, daily listings:

https://ontario.hibid.com/lots/?status=top&utm_content=sunday_4/11/21

change the date at the end.

would be VERY handy to be able to “Select All” then unselect some categories. generLLY I WANT TO SEE EVERYTHING, with a few exceptiosn. sometimes easier to do it this way.

just making a “select” button for each catagory (top-level only?) would really help. ESPECIALLY if it’s saved as my default.

the problem with autions, at least the ones I see, don’t have an ending price; <1% of the auctions I’ve followed end with “Price Realized, Not Uploaded”; the autioneer must have to do something at the end of the auction, and this is rarely done.
due to this, for most items, need to follow the ation to the end and assume the last bid vbefore it drops off closes is the final value; since most of these seem to be “sof closes” this is likely a corect price. but how the fuck could you gather the necesary data for many aictions.
maybe OntarioHiBid could force all to upload the ecessary data. Or enable it, since this is likey part of their software (or certainly should be….)
my guess is no one wants this, since it would allow automated systems to learn the arbitrage opportunites and likely dominate the.

auctions are almost useless since at least on ontario hibid.comyou rarely get to see the closing price, which is the true value to
