Seems that until the tech works, maybe we give the researchers some space?  The accusations of cultuarl appropriation are a bit strained.  unless all the research is aleays from the non-asl-speakers’ pov or responsibility.  my type 1. device below might address this?

I wonder if my type 1. below would make better sense.

on machine translation real time of ASL or other sign languages. first, there are two, maybe three methods:
1. listner me has a camera i wear on head/chest eyglasses, the camera is facing th asl speaker and analyzes the asl speaker so should be able to catch all the gestures, not just the hands.
2. asl speaker has camera in same locations that anaylzes wherethere gestures and such, perhaps with other sensors, angle of spine? the ml ai outpus translation as text/sms/audio/to my bt earpc?
