TIL catalytic conmverts sell for ~US$1000, and replacement parts are ~US2800. These are full retail dealership. Probably avaikl easyily for 1/4 or less that.
Also, whay does a Prius have so much of the sweet, sweet rare earth metals compared to others. I would think the need for poluttion cutting properites of larger engines would nessitate more of the magic metals (platinum mostly).
