{"id":3581,"date":"2019-07-02T17:52:13","date_gmt":"2019-07-02T21:52:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ckms.ca\/?p=3581"},"modified":"2019-07-02T17:52:13","modified_gmt":"2019-07-02T21:52:13","slug":"fishing-trip-lake-simcoe-2019-07-01","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.ckms.ca\/?p=3581","title":{"rendered":"Fishing Trip &#8211; Lake Simcoe, 2019-07-01"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just Joan &amp; I.\u00a0\u00a0One the road ~7:20am.\u00a0 One water, Oro Station public launch ($20 all day); got second-to-last parking spot.<\/p>\n<p>Tried ~1 hour flat-line trolling.\u00a0 No hits.\u00a0 Remainder of day spent deep-water jigging.\u00a0 Very little action, likely no real hits.\u00a0 For last hour, also tried some simple hook &amp; worm to target the schools seen ~15 and ~40&#8242; down (likely perch).\u00a0 Still no hits.<\/p>\n<p>So no fish.\u00a0 But they are there, plain as day on the fish finder.\u00a0 Or it lies.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, good day.\u00a0 No blown tires.\u00a0 No burned out bearing hubs.\u00a0 Didn&#8217;t almost sink boat.\u00a0 Weather almost perfect, a bit windier than expected, but very manageable.<\/p>\n<p>Problems that need solving:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>left trailer wheel needs proper-sized dust cap (who knew there are two cap sizes for 1&#8243; diameter shaft: 1.940&#8243; and 1.980&#8243;; Canadian Tire only has the smaller one, which almost fits.\u00a0 But falls off with the slightest tap, or when the hub warms up.<\/li>\n<li>still can&#8217;t drive with Bimini top on; had to be completely removed by the time we hit Fowler&#8217;s Corner.<\/li>\n<li>fell on dock when trying to get out.
