Fuck! It’s so awesome to use the web? for maps, direction, and such. I used to do the search, find the thing I want, then zoom out and see where it is in relation to, e.g, Mom & Larry’s. Cool!
But now I just hit Google Maps’ “Directions” button, click on their address (it’s in both my “Favorites” and my “FRU” lists, so it’s at the top) and BOOM!, I get the directions, with times by various transit options. I can quickly snip it off the screen<\/a> for other uses. or send it to my phone. Five seconds of clicky-click, nothing on the keyboard, done. It would seem magical to my Grade 11 self.
And all of that could be done ON MY PHONE, at ~C$30\/month on my FreedomMobile account.
I am reminded of how this would have been done when I was in high school, say grade 11 at Westminster<\/a> in London<\/a>. Atlas or map in the library was the only option. I was lucky enough to have the full Encyclopedia Britannica<\/a> on the shelf at home, but for many it would be a trip to the library, possible at school, but might have to go to general library or even university. I used both microfiche<\/a> and keypunch for computer input Westminster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
