If I have a750VA UPS running a 40w fan (0.85pf so 40\/.85 = 47VA); so I should get 750VA\/47VA =  16.9 hours?  But in practice, I get no more than 1h30mins!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>turns out indeed i are misunderstanding&#8230;. the 750VA rating on a UPS is the load it will support <em><strong>for some defined time<\/strong><\/em>.  So for this UPS, it will provide 5 mins at 1\/2 load (375VA). WTF?<br>test ups comms on balrog; device manger detects; install Belkin aPM software v2.5; is recognized, set a 10min selft test<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>40w\/51VA fan on 16-26-00, off 17:23, so got ~57 minutes @ 51va\/40W<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>apc, start 17:50, off 5 mins later.<br>the battery in this one is likely nfg. but has barely been used? m easured 6.0 Ah 2022-06-04, so ~10 months., recharge, ~3 hours; 8.34Ah tested; recharge; in UPS for powering fan: ????<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>what are y expectations for an APC-brand UPS with APC-brand replacement batteries purchased from Amazon.ca.<br>First, if I charge the battery (insert into UPS, wait a few hours, sez battery is charged. remove from UPS, use cheap load meter, test at 1A draw, get 6.5Ah. Repeat<br>sendon. I got ~10 months out of this battery.
