Windows 10 or higher. off by default. WIN + V to enable, then WIN + V to see the history. Click an entry and it’s pasted where the cursor is. It’s cloud-based, so potential privacy issues?

I wrote this when I started a message to paul… started the first line in WhatsApp to him, then added too much to be a WhatsApp; so started writing in soc file, ccompleted the thoughts, and then posted it here.

Hey! Do you do a lot of copy & pasting on computer? Are you always switching back & forth between a couple of programs, c&p’ing between them?
Try pressing WIN + V, turn on “Clipboard histroy” (if not already on); from thereafter, pressing WIN + V to pop up a list of your clipboard history, from which the immediate past item can be pasted, as well as anythiung you’ve ever cut or copied.
Clipboard history programs have been around for years. But windows finally has it built in. Only took 30-ish years.
Now if we could just get a decent file system…

BTW, “WIN + V” means hold down WINDOWS key and press V. Do not press the + key!

I say this not to nerdsplain… I thought my things were broken when that three-stroke combo a) did nothing, and b) is tricky af to do with human hands.

Finally, Windows has a clipboard history.
