Mayor Bill de Blasio said thousands more did get the shot and that the first day of the vaccine mandate went smoothly, without significant service disruptions.<\/p>\n

So 9,000 + 12,000 exemption = 21,000, out of ~370,000 city employees, or ~5.7%.\u00a0 A bit larger than the 2-3% I predicted last week.<\/p>\n

Only 34 police<\/a> (less than 0.15%).\u00a0 Much less than estimated last week from the screaming headlines.<\/p>\n

“Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said 34 cops and 40 civilian members of the force \u2014 which account for fewer than .15 percent of NYPD employees \u2014 did not comply with Mayor Bill de Blasio\u2019s mandate”<\/p>\n

Also, contextless headline !!!\u00a0 9,000 is much better than 5.7% for getting clicks.<\/p>\n
